If you’ve rented a dumpster from us here at Dumpster Rental Buffalo then it’s time to prepare for it. There are several things you can do ahead of time to make your dumpster experience a smooth and satisfying process.

Prepare your space

Make sure to move vehicles, equipment and anything else out of the delivery area and intended space for your dumpster. Don’t forget to look up either. The dumpster may only be so tall but the truck that delivers it will need additional space above. Be sure to remove or more any tree branches, wires etc. that could be in the way.

Keep in mind that most delivery trucks will need about 60 feet of space that goes in a straight line when dropping off your dumpster. You will want to confirm that your space is wide enough for the dumpster and the delivery vehicle. And lastly, if at any point in the delivery the truck could cross into your neighbor’s yard or property you need to make sure you have permission from them.

Identify Your Dumpster Delivery Area

Once the space is clean and ready for your dumpster you need to make sure that you’ve set out cones or other identifiers that mark the placement. You want the driver to know exactly where you want it. The proper placement of your dumpster is important.

Confirm Your Delivery Date

You don’t want to have a mix up on when it will be delivered. It’s not the kind of thing that should be prepared for hastily. You want to make sure you have nothing in the space and nothing else intended to be there during the time frame. Make sure to notify the family and any neighbors that might be affected as well. Even if the truck will not be going through your neighbor’s yard they may not want to park on the street by your house on the day it is being delivered.

In addition to the date, you also want to be aware of the time frame of your delivery. It helps to know when to expect it. Your presence is not required at the drop site but you should be aware of the expected time.

Know What Can and Can’t Go In Your Dumpster

Before you put anything inside the dumpster you want to know that all the materials you intend to trash are accepted. Refer to one of our helpful pages on what is allowed and what is not allowed for more information. You can also call us at 716-226-1263 to ask any questions. We are here to help.

Some general guidelines are that residential dumpsters accept paper, plastics, clothing and other household waste, and construction/heavy duty dumpsters are made more for material such as brick, shingles, concrete etc.

If you take these preparation steps and work with professionals like us at Dumpster Rental Buffalo then your whole process should be a breeze! We can’t wait to help you complete your project!
